Mettricks Summer Campaign
· digital styling · photography ·
In our line of work there’s only a few things that are a sure sell. Food and drink is always one of them. But how do we make it look appealing I hear you ask? Photography is a HUGE element of digital styling and it makes up 50% of social media marketing. An image speaks 1000 words so as long as your images are good enough, your captions are only an addition.
We were commissioned to provide a set of images for the Mettricks summer campaign a while back (yes we’re getting round to shouting about ourselves after doing all the shouting about our clients on their pages for so long…) and still to this day see them as mouthwatering.
Product photography is quite often overlooked in favour of ‘marketing’ but in actual fact, the better the imagery, the less convincing there is to do! ☀️
The Brief:
The client wanted images that could be used over social media, website and promotional material such as posters and flyers, promoting the Summer refresher drinks.
The Process:
We took all three drinks from each range up to an empty roof-terrace over looking the water near one of their cafes (stay with us)….. on a beautiful sunny day. Using the natural lighting, sun placement and condensation they basically did all the fluffing for us in terms of making them look good! Picking the right time of day was the key here, making sure the water glistened and the sun was in the right place for the shadows.
Studios are great and all but nothing beats a bit of natural lighting.
The Outcome:
Smoothies, Milkshakes, Iced Teas and Iced Coffees all glowing in the sunlight ready to be enjoyed. A perfect picturesque British Summer with a takeaway drink or a seat by the water. The images from the campaign were used across the social media and the in-store/street promotional posters. We think they look pretty good! How do you use your product photography?
